TURK UPDATE >>
Yeah, I'm still working on the bird. Last night I created a super supper of stuft turkey. It spilled over into my breakfast too. And there's still a little more left in the fridge. And more in the freezer. It's neverending. I'm up to 16 meals so far that have included the turkey. Prolly another 10 or therebouts left.
m15.0 (1/8/2007) - Spinach Stuffed Turkey Breast. Left breast of turkey marinated in oil, vinegar, lemon juice, Texas Pete hot sauce, pressed garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and coriander. Stuffed with chopped spinach sauteed with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, butter, and lemon juice and mixed with some mystery gourmet cheese (I got the cheese from work months ago can't remember it's variety). Baked in the oven for a while in marinade juices. Served with honey, butter, fig, and mystery gourmet cheese bake.
m16.0 (1/9/2007) - 2 egg omellet with leftover spinach stuffing and chopped up turkey from SpinStuffTurkBrst in the omellet. Served with coffee and a small glass of OJ (not as small as grandma's OJ glasses).
BREAKING TURK NEWS >>
A turkey challenger has emerged. He too has roasted his own bird and is going for the title. In his own words - "BTW: I'm bringing the smackdown on your TurkProj2ko6. I've defrosted my own bird and am going after the Tryptophan Title."
Judge for yourself whether the belt goes to
Real Buried Treasure or this turkey loving baby with the beard and the
meat thermometer.
YEAR OF THE LADY BUG >>
I spent a couple of days in a cabin in North Georgia to ring in the new year, officially dubbed the Year of the
Lady Bug. Please feel free to browse my
photos of the trip and don't forget to check out the previous post of the Not-so-live-NYE-blog to really get a sense of the madness. As soon as I get the chance I'll put some video ("NYE2K6 - Star Spangled Banner" {critically acclaimed}) up on myspace.
THE SHANDY, THE OFFICIAL DRINK OF 2007 >>
And the official drink of the year is the
Shandy. Try one for yourself. Be a convert. I am. It's the Irish brother to the German's
Radler.
