7:36 PM >> Food Update: Ham Pickle Pie

Here are the latest food project updates for any of you who're interested >>

THE 9LB. HAM PROJECT 2K7 - UPDATE D.1
Big update here. It's been "half a ham" since we last spoke. This is an actual colloquialism [see sayings of old Briton]. And sadly I report that there is just one serving in the freezer left of "Kind of Like Ham Tetrazzini (pt. B) [M30]". She were a good ham. Such hope and determination in her young blazing eyes. But whoa it's not yet time to get sentimental. Not yet, ye starter farter. Here is thou ham dishes I've eaten sincey.

M18 >> (4/17/2007) Pressed Ham Sandy. Grilled ham on a 1/4 portion of Subway Italian loaf with yellow mustard, parmesean cheese, pepper, and small batch
#1 pickles {SB1}. Pressed cuban style on the stove-top between iron skillets. For dessert a slice of cherry pie.
M19 >> (4/19/2007) Ham and fried egg on Subway Italian loaf with a little bit of pepper and Chipotle Tabasco sauce.
M20 >> (4/25/2007) Ham, Cheese, and Onion Empanada Pt. 1A. The first half of a kick A empanada style thing. Trader Joe's regular pizza dough folded around grilled ham, grilled onions, chopped jalapenos, and parmesean cheese.
Outside of the dough was treated with a butter and mexican oregano brushing.
M21 >> (4/26/2007) Ham, Onion, and Pepper Omelette. Grilled ham and onions in an omelette with diced jalapenos. Served with a banana, a glass of strawberry milk, and a toast slice of Pancake Corn Meal Coconut Cakebread with honey on it. Oh, and coffee.
M22 >> (4/27/2007) Ham, Cheese, and Onion Empanada Pt. 1B. The second half of an empanada style thing. This time served with steamed onions and carrots seasoned with pepper, roasted garlic, and rosemary. And for dessert a little chocolate chip cookie.
M23 >> (4/29/2007) Ham the Omelette. A 2-egg omelette with grilled ham and onions, jalapeno pepper, and pepper. Coffe and tiny bowl of Fiber One.
M24 >> (4/29/2007) Ham Empanada Pt. 2A. The first half of another empanada style thing. Trader Joe's regular pizza dough folded around grilled ham, grilled onions, chopped jalapenos, mild Wisconson cheddar, and pepperoni slices. Outside of the dough was treated with a butter and bruschetta seasoning brushing. Served with chips, a cookie, and an apple (Fuji).
M25 >> (5/2/2007) Ham Empanada Pt. 2B. The second half of another empanada style thing. Served with canteloupe and popcorn.
M26 >> (5/5/2007) Ham, onion, roasted jap pepp, and cheddar omelette.
M27 >> (5/8/2007) Another ham, onion, and cheese omelette. This one with ground jalapeno and mex oregano for seasoning. No picture taken, but I think you get the picture by now.
M28 >> (5/8/2007) Another ham pressed sandwich. This one with grilled ham and onions, pepperoni, pickles pickled with diced jalapeno peppers, creole mustard, and cheddar cheese. Served on grill pressed free Jimmy John's loaf bread.
M29 >> (5/9/2007) Kind of Like Ham Tetrazzini (pt. A). The last of the ham prepared in the crock with black beans, onion, minced garlic, sliced jalapeno, cream of mushroom, a little bit of scalded milk, 1/4 cup of PBR, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper, parmesean cheese, and p-sghetti (spaghetti) noodles.
M30 >> (5/10/2007) Kind of Like Ham Tetrazzini (pt. B).

THE 5 PIE PROJECT 2K7 - UPDATE B.1
PIE #2 (5/22/2007) >> Orange Cherry White Chocolate Inverted Tart. A disasterous attempt at a tart that turned into a magnificent cobbler. Cherries, oranges, tapioca, and white chocolate baked in a casserole dish after everything started spilling out of the attempted tart.

This Pie-Non-Pie-Tart-Turned-Cobbler was a kitchen fiasco. Flour everywhere. Fire alarms. Slipping feet. But the heat was well worth it. It tastes great. I can't wait to try it with a little scoop of ice cream.

THE UN-OFFICIAL WENDY'S RE-PICKLING PICKLE PROJECT 2K7 - UPDATE B.1
Small batch #3 {SB3} (5/22/2007) is beet juice, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, cinnamon.

Nothing to say about the pickles --- But hey, I think there may be something in the post title. Yeah. I think that thing needs to come real.

So I'll be ordering from their Mexican (Chico) menu. Please go to their

Pick out some stuff for me to eat for lunch. It needs to be a minimum of

#14 for you.
RESULTS AND PICTURE REFERANCE MAP

[A] Stuffed Jalapenos - Very tastey and a hint of chinese batter. Burned coming out. [B] Chicken Taco (soft shell) - The #1 messiest taco I've ever had presented to me. [C] Beef Enchilada - Had to fridge this one. Too much food for 1 sitting. [D] Beef Taco (hard shell) - Totally cool. It came in it's own box and was a kit. You had to build the taco yourself. Meat was stowed in a plastic ramikin. Lettuce and chese thrown on bottom with empty shell on top. And 1 packet of hot sauce. [E] Diet Cola - No special notes. [F] Complimentary fourtune cookies - Ate one. Fortune was lame, mentioned eating dessert 3 times a week.

9:59 PM >> Brune '08 and a Dead Bird

The good stuff first and then the more negative stuff.

In the continuing effort to get Mike Brune into the White House I got a Sharpie and marked up the American flag plate on the front of my truck. Hopefully this will inspire others to do the same. And hopefully our Mike Brune will have a chance at becoming this country's next president regardless of the age rule which is so antiquated anyway, I mean come on.

Now for the bad stuff. A couple of days ago I saw this dead bird situated on the curb in my parking lot. Such a beautiful bird. Pretty colors. A pretty yellow/orange beak. All the makings of a nice happy bird and then dead. When I first saw it, I actually uttered, out loud, "Oh, my God. Dead bird." My this bird's sould rest in peace.
