1:11 PM >> BBIF.06

the black box improv festival at georgia tech's drama tech theater was a huge success. babies mit bearden performed thursday evening. we had a hit show. lots of fun. lots of economics came out. friday and saturday i spent on campus going to workshops. and in the evenings i saw performances. many many performances. my favs being jackpie theater workshop's team amerika who did a great show, the two-man jackpie, and the ucb touring group's performance on saturday night. they were absolutely stunning. thinking back on their show seems like some drug trip. they were so together and wasted no inspiration. it was all coughed up and picked through. amazing.

check out jim's festival journal at the jackpie theater workshop site. and view my festival snapshots at this link - this one here.

1:39 PM >> Veggie Stir-Fry with Bok Choi and some fish

Veggie stir-fry and brown rice including squash, onion, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, sesame oil, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, Asian seasoning, zucchini, another squash or cucumber thing, and some bok choi. Oh, my god. I almost forgot--jalepeno AND habenero peppers too. This sucker was hot stuff, sweat city.

The fish was some free salmon that I got from work. I marinated it in Teriyaki, vinegar, pepper and stuff, some lime I think, and some yellow mustard. Then I cooked it in the skillet [SEE BOTTOM LEFT OF FRAME].

Rating overall: 7.89.

Good fish. Hot stir-fry.

My watch just won't shut up about it.

1:02 AM >> Out of order

My favorite watch has gone all out of order. Saturday morning it was working-alarm and all. Then around 1pm-ish I looked down and saw that there was nothing. No time. Now running stop watch. Nothing. The Indiglo has been on then fritz for a while.

Normally I'd just replace the battery. But he face is so scratched and nasty that i think I need the whole new deal.

SUPER COOL NOTE: While you're checking, have you seen the blog of my newest sandwich that has big prawns and bread and mustard and stuff?

11:07 AM >> Saluting Jesus

With an injured head I made salute to the storefront Jesus. Who is that diety in the window? I was pained. The orb, my tormentor, dropped in to taunt. And I was double parked.

GOOD NEWS: I also made this really awesome sandwich. It's called the Prawny Man's Po'boy. Rating was 9.576.

8:56 PM >> Southwestern Tequila Prawn Panini

Giant prawns grilled with sauteed onions and garlic in olive oil and butter and lemon juice, a smidge of white tequila and with the following spices: thyme, parsley, corriander, cumin, crushed red pepper, cayenne pepper, and pepper pepper. Served pressed-style on Italian sweet bread with provolone cheese, a little mustard, red onion slices, and garlic onion spice grilling saucey-ness.

Rating: 9.02

NOTE: Thanks to work for the giant prawns.

9:17 PM >> Chattahoochee Organic Fig and Blackberry Jackpie

The Chattahoochee Organic Fig and Blackberry Jackpie was prepared for the orgies of the Southeastern Comedy Arts Festival that EmE recently returned from. The pie is this: cooked figs with apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, and honey. Added some blackberries, some tapioca pudding, a little flower, some butter, and sugar. Did the lattice work thing with the crust and baked away. AND baked.

Sadly, I have no rating for this pie. If you tasted my pie AND if you read my blog. Please give a rating in the comment box so that I can track the taste quality of my pies.

Thanks for your courage.

9:55 AM >> Einstein meets Elvis returns

Jackpie Theater Workshop's team Einstein meets Elvis returned safely from the Southeastern Comedy Arts Alliance Festival (September 29, October 30) in Starkville, MS. We won two awards (2006 SECAF Award Winners), had a kick A performance on Friday night, led workshops, met some cool cool people, we partied, we ate BBQ, we saw the world's biggest chair, and all this other stuff.

There is more to come including a super exciting slide show and we'll have our itinerary available soon for you to peruse. But I just wanted to let you know we made the trip with great success.

Thanks to everyone that was involved in the festival and stay tuned.
